The Cessna Citation Mustang, Model 510, is a "very light jet" (VLJ) class business jet built by Cessna Aircraft Company at their Independence, Kansas production facility. The Citation Mustang competes in a new class of business jet referred to by most as Very Light Jets (VLJs), and previously coined as "microjets." The VLJ concept sprung from the idea that there may be a demand for a smaller, more efficient jet that could compete against turbo props and standard light jets. Thus, some refer to a VLJ as the entry-level charter jet.
The Mustang, in standard configuration, has four passenger seats in the aft cabin and seating for two in the cockpit. Like most other very light jets, the Mustang is approved for single-pilot operation.
